Why you need a VPN for Baidu?
Named Product Bans
Some governments ban Baidu and its search app, maps and translation tools separately, naming each product by name. That’s a decision about the product, not meaning Baidu did anything wrong. Reach all products through CometVPN’s obfuscated servers, and the ban no longer applies.
Workplace Search Blocks
Employers and network admins can block Baidu specifically, not Chinese apps in general, because search queries can reveal research goals. The concern isn’t about the bandwidth or distractions, it’s about the query itself. CometVPN encrypts traffic, so the destination never shows up in the logs.
Query Privacy
A legal question, a competitor’s name, a health question. What you search says more than where you browse. Your ISP can log queries sent to Baidu, just like any other site. CometVPN masks your IP, and keeps no logs, meaning privacy from A to Z.
File Transfer Risk
Public Wi-Fi networks are convenient, but you don’t control the network and encounter significant threats of data theft. A login, your search history, or a file that’s mid-upload to storage can be exposed to lurkers. CometVPN’s encrypted tunnel protects all of it.
CometVPN Features for Baidu Users
Residential IP
A new sign-in from a datacenter-style or unfamiliar IP can trigger extra verification. Comet VPN’s residential IP looks like an ordinary home connection, so logins pass without the extra steps. Read more about residential IPs.
No Speed Loss
When an ISP throttles traffic, search results, map tiles and cloud downloads all slow down. CometVPN’s encryption stops that throttling. It won’t speed up Chinese servers, but a VPN for Baidu removes artificial brakes.
Zero-Logs Policy
What you search for, translate or download through Baidu is never written down on our end. CometVPN keeps no connection or activity logs. Hence, there’s no record to hand over, sell or lose.
Leading AES-256 Encryption
With CometVPN, every query, login or other input and file sent travels through an encrypted tunnel. Anyone who’s trying to snoop between your device and Baidu’s servers will only see scrambled, unreadable data.
Multi-Device
Run CometVPN on multiple devices, all under one account. Search on desktop, proof a translation on your phone with a fast Baidu VPN at home, work or while on the go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Won't Baidu Open on My Network or in My Country?
That’s usually because a government ban or a strict workplace policy is in place. That’s not a fault in Baidu itself. You can unblock Baidu through CometVPN servers from supported locations.
Is it Legal to Use a VPN with Baidu?
In most countries – yes, it is absolutely legal. However, check local law since a number of jurisdictions restrict or ban VPNs entirely. Baidu’s terms don’t ban VPNs either.
Can Baidu Restrict My Account for Using a VPN?
Baidu’s terms don’t prohibit VPNs. A residential IP makes extra verification requirements far less likely to appear. So, it’s the fastest way of how to access Baidu where it's banned.
Does a VPN Make Baidu Slower?
Only a little, but not because of CometVPN. Routing to servers in China adds some distance no matter what. However, WireGuard keeps CometVPN’s overhead down to a minimum.
Why Not Use a Free Baidu VPN?
A Free Baidu VPN still must pay the bills in one way or another. Usually they do that by selling your query data to advertisers. We keep this 100% private.
